This year, the Rolex Paris Masters welcomes the world’s best wheelchair tennis players to the courts of Paris La Defense Arena.

One milestone can often hide another. For the first time, the Parisian Masters 1000 will be staged inside Europe’s largest indoor arena, and for its 40th edition, the tournament will also feature wheelchair tennis competition. Eight of the world’s top players (seven direct entries based on ranking + one wildcard) will compete in this ITF 1 event, with both singles and doubles matches scheduled from Friday, October 31 to Sunday, November 2.

World-class participants

Less than two weeks before the season-ending Masters in Huzhou, China (November 10–16), the elite of wheelchair tennis will gather in Paris for this inaugural edition. With the exception of current US Open champion and world No.1 Tokito Oda, the very best players on the planet will be in action, promising an event as intense as it is spectacular.

Australian Open champion in January and a finalist at Roland-Garros and Wimbledon, multiple Grand Slam champion Alfie Hewett (world No.2 and top seed in Paris) will be the man to beat, but he will face strong competition. Depending on the draw, which will take place on Thursday, October 30 at 3pm, the Brit could potentially meet his US Open conqueror Gustavo Fernandez (seeded No.3) as early as the semifinals. France’s Stéphane Houdet (seeded No.5), who was runner-up to Martin de la Puente (seeded No.2) at last week’s Sardinia Open International, will be eager to shine in front of his home crowd. And with a wild card still to be announced, another French player could join him in the final draw.

Entry list (singles & doubles):

1) Alfie Hewett (GBR, World No.2)

2) Martin de la Puente (ESP, World No.3)

3) Gustavo Fernandez (ARG, World No.4)

4) Gordon Reid (GBR, World No.5)

5) Stéphane Houdet (FRA, World No.6)

6) Ruben Spaargaren (NED, World No.7)

7) Casey Ratzlaff (USA, World No.8)

8) Wildcard to be determined
